Erhurman: No Approval Needed from T/C Side for Unilateral Measures by G/C Side

The Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhurman, stated that the approval of his side is not required for any unilateral measures taken by the Greek Cypriot side. This statement came in response to reports that the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, intends to take action in the areas of health and the economy to benefit the Turkish Cypriot community. Erhurman noted that he does not have a complete picture of President Christodoulides' intentions, but reiterated that his approval is not necessary for unilateral measures. Regarding trade through the Green Line, Erhurman emphasized the need for equal treatment and the removal of existing obstacles.
