Four More Arrests in Paphos Murder Case

The Paphos Police have made four additional arrests in connection with the murder of the 41-year-old in Peyeia, bringing the total number of suspects to five. The four new suspects, aged 25, 28, 31, and 34, are accused of conspiracy, assault, malicious damage, weapons possession, and carrying an offensive weapon. The 29-year-old previously arrested is charged with premeditated murder, attempted grievous bodily harm, and assault, and remains in custody for eight days. Police stated that the new warrants were issued following a witness testimony that emerged during the investigation. According to authorities, the bloody incident is linked to personal disputes that originated from posts on social media. The victim, a Bulgarian national, succumbed to his injuries at the Paphos General Hospital, with a knife embedded in his abdomen. Initial investigations revealed that the 29-year-old was found near his home, with his vehicle showing damage. Simultaneously, a car intercepted by the Paphos MMAD transported the 41-year-old to the hospital, along with a 28-year-old relative who had suffered head injuries. The 29-year-old allegedly admitted to stabbing the victim but claims he did not intend to kill him. The Court approved his detention as the investigation is ongoing and further examination is required. Police continue to collect and evaluate evidence to fully solve the case.
