Takata Replacement Deadline Set for Vehicles in the Occupied Territories

Owners of vehicles manufactured between 2000 and 2019 with dangerous Takata airbags must complete an online check by March 31, 2026, and complete the replacement process by June 30, 2027, otherwise the circulation of the vehicles will be prohibited in the occupied territories. This was announced today in the occupied territories by the “Minister of Transport”, Erhan Arikli. Arikli stated that there is a large number of Japanese-made cars in the occupied territories and that the implementation of “recalls” is difficult due to the non-recognition of the pseudo-state, while the risk of airbag explosion is greater due to the hot climate. Arikli named the car manufacturers that use the dangerous Takata airbags. Owners of vehicles that do not have a dealership in the occupied territories must apply to the “Ministry of Transport”, while those who have a dealership must contact it. After the replacement of the airbags, drivers must submit a relevant document to the “police” by June 30, 2027.
