Alert Level Upgraded to 'Extreme Risk' in Strait of Hormuz – Sailors Dead and Attacks Escalating

The alert level in the Strait of Hormuz has been upgraded to 'extreme risk' (5/5) due to escalating attacks on commercial ships and the deaths of sailors. EOS Risk Group is warning shipping companies to postpone any transit through the area until further notice. The situation deteriorated after a new fatal attack on a tugboat, resulting in the deaths of all eight crew members. At least 13 commercial ships have been attacked in the area since February 28th. Simultaneously, military tensions in the Middle East are escalating, with the United States and Israel carrying out raids on targets in Iran. EOS Risk Group is calling on companies to reconsider approaches to ports and anchorages and to follow the instructions of local authorities.
