Professor Tasked with Addressing Nursing Shortage in Cyprus

Professor of Health Economics Ioannis Yfantopoulos from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens has been commissioned to study solutions for the nursing shortage in Cypriot hospitals. The assignment was made by the Minister of Health, Neophytos Charalambides, who stated that the Professor has already begun meetings with relevant stakeholders. The study will cover short-term, medium-term, and long-term solutions and is expected to be delivered within 45 days. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Health continues its campaign to attract new nursing students, which has resulted in an 85% increase in student numbers.
