Foot-and-Mouth Disease: Nearly All Cattle Vaccinated – No New Cases
Greece has made significant progress in vaccinating livestock against foot-and-mouth disease. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Agriculture, 98% of cattle and 76% of sheep and goats have received the first dose of the vaccine. Regarding the second dose, the vaccination rate is 37.6% for cattle and 10.6% for sheep and goats. Importantly, no new cases of the disease have been reported. Despite preventative measures, 28,516 sheep and goats and 1,910 cattle have died.
