AKEL MP: Utilize Guterres' Message for Restarting Cyprus Talks

AKEL MP, Aristos Damianou, emphasized the importance of utilizing the message from Guterres for restarting talks on the Cyprus issue, stating that the Secretary-General recognizes an emerging prospect. At the same time, he expressed concern about violations on the green line, but called for maintaining the prospect for restarting negotiations. Mr. Damianou criticized the lukewarm stance of the Christodoulides government towards violations of international law in Venezuela, characterizing the “good boy” policy as detrimental to the interests of the Cypriot people. He stressed the need for a consistent stance from the EU on issues of violation of international law. Finally, he expressed hope that Cyprus will successfully manage its presidency of the Council of Europe, without excesses.
