DISY: New Postponement of Political Bureau Meeting Regarding Nikos Syka Case

The meeting of the Democratic Rally (DISY) Political Bureau regarding the case of MP Nikos Syka has been postponed again, until the hearing of the request for lifting his immunity before the Supreme Court is completed and a decision is issued. The party leadership, following the opinion of the Legal Council, decided on the postponement due to the pending judicial process. The DISY announcement states that the discussion of the Executive Bureau's proposal regarding Mr. Syka's inclusion on the party's ballot was scheduled but postponed because the request for lifting his immunity was pending. The Supreme Court's decision will largely determine whether the police investigation will continue or not. The party emphasizes that the President's statement and the Executive Bureau's proposal to the Political Bureau remain in effect until the judicial decision is reached. The postponement aims to avoid any premature judgment before the completion of the judicial process and to fully ensure transparency and legality.
