Two Injured in Industrial Accident at Vasilikos AHK Station

Two individuals were injured in an industrial accident at the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) station in Vasilikos. Initially reported as an explosion, it was later clarified that the incident involved a violent discharge of inert gas used for firefighting purposes. The accident occurred during maintenance work, specifically during the replacement of automatic fire suppression cylinders by a private company. Both injured individuals are employees of the private company, with one remaining in the hospital for precautionary monitoring. The Labour Inspection Department and the Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, and no material damage was reported.
