Minimum Wage Decree Issued – Effective from January 1st, 2026

The Cypriot Council of Ministers has decided to revise the minimum wage, with the new Decree coming into effect on January 1st, 2026. According to the Decree, the national minimum wage upon hiring increases from €900 to €979 gross for employees with less than six months of service. After completing six months, the wage increases to €1,088 gross. These increases apply to full-time employees, while proportional adjustments are provided for part-time employment based on working hours. The Decree maintains the existing full-time working hours, as determined by legislation, collective agreements, or customs. Furthermore, the previous Amendment Decree of 2023 is repealed, and technical references to other relevant decrees concerning specific employment sectors are updated. This decision aims to improve the economic conditions of workers and adapt wages to the current needs of the labor market.
