Former President of Cyprus, George Vassiliou, Hospitalized in Serious Condition

Former President of the Republic of Cyprus, George Vassiliou, has been hospitalized in serious condition at the General Hospital of Nicosia since Tuesday, January 6th. The news was reported by the State Radio and confirmed by the spokesperson of the Cyprus Public Health Services Organization (OKYPY), Charalambos Charilaou. The reason for his hospitalization has not been clarified. Mr. Vassiliou, 94 years old, served as the third President of the Republic of Cyprus from 1988-1993. His health condition is being closely monitored by his doctors.
