Spanish High-Speed Train Derailment: At Least Five Dead, Many Injured

At least five people have died and several others were injured after two high-speed trains derailed in Cordoba, Spain. The accident involved a train traveling from Malaga to Madrid and a train on its way from Madrid to Huelva. Just 10 minutes into the journey, the train from Malaga derailed and collided with two carriages of the other train. A total of 317 people were on board both trains. Passengers described the collision as feeling 'like an earthquake', with many forced to climb onto the roof of the carriages or break windows to escape. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, which occurred on a straight section of track, making the incident particularly unusual. High-speed rail traffic from Andalusia has been suspended, and the Minister of Transport is at the Renfe control center to monitor the situation.
