TPAO and Chevron in Talks for Hydrocarbon Exploration in Turkey

Turkey's state oil and gas company, TPAO, is in discussions with US energy giant Chevron regarding potential collaboration in hydrocarbon exploration within Turkey. The talks primarily focus on seismic surveys and drilling activities, with specific areas yet to be determined. This move aligns with Ankara's strategy to increase domestic energy production through partnerships with international companies. TPAO already operates in regions such as the Black Sea, Iraq, Russia, and Somalia, while Chevron has a presence in the Eastern Mediterranean, near Israel and Cyprus. Simultaneously, TPAO has reached an agreement with ExxonMobil for joint research and plans to issue an Islamic bond worth $4 billion to strengthen its funding. As of now, no official announcement has been made by the Turkish Ministry of Energy or TPAO.
