Dramatic Arrest in Larnaca: Man Rams Police Vehicle, Injures Two Officers

A 37-year-old man was arrested in Larnaca following a dramatic chase and collision with a police patrol car. The incident began when members of the MMAD noticed the suspect suspiciously observing parked vehicles. When police attempted to check him, the 37-year-old tried to escape in his car. During the escape, the suspect collided with a parked car and then with an EAC pole and the patrol car, injuring two police officers. One officer was injured in the leg, while the other, the patrol car driver, sustained injuries from the impact. During the arrest, the suspect resisted and attempted to hit the officer in the face. A search of his car revealed two knives, one of which was a switchblade. The two injured officers were taken to the hospital and received sick leave. The 37-year-old has been detained for five days, charged with a series of offenses, including negligent and reckless acts, assault, carrying a knife, driving under the influence of drugs, and resisting arrest.
