Seven Arrests Island-Wide in Police Operations to Prevent Serious Crime

The Cyprus Police have arrested seven individuals in island-wide operations aimed at preventing serious crime and protecting citizens. In Paphos, four individuals were arrested based on court warrants in connection with an animal welfare case, while one person was arrested for burglary. In Limassol, two individuals were arrested for offenses including assault against a police officer, resisting lawful arrest, public insult, causing disturbance, possession of an offensive weapon, and illegal possession of property. The operations included extensive checks of premises to prevent illegal activities. In addition, more than 370 checks were carried out on the road network, resulting in over 70 traffic violations. Four cars were impounded and a stolen motorcycle was located. The Police emphasize that these operations are part of a broader, ongoing and enhanced preventive plan, with increased police presence and targeted checks in all provinces, in order to prevent crime and enhance the sense of security of citizens.
