Zelensky: 'No Talks with Russia Without Agreement Between Trump and Europe'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated today that Ukraine will not engage in talks with Russia unless there is an agreement between US President Donald Trump and European leaders on a peace framework. Zelensky mentioned that the proposed framework includes American security guarantees for Ukraine for approximately 15 years, while he had requested guarantees from Trump for 50 years. Zelensky emphasized that a meeting with Russia will only be possible if Trump and European leaders agree on a peace framework proposed by Ukraine. He expressed hope that partners will provide security guarantees to Ukraine after the signing of a peace agreement. The statement from Zelensky comes at a critical time, as the war in Russia continues and international efforts to achieve peace have so far failed. The need for strong security guarantees for Ukraine is a key issue in the peace talks.
