UK Deploys Warship and Anti-Drone Helicopters to Cyprus

The UK has announced the deployment of the HMS Dragon destroyer and helicopters capable of countering drones to Cyprus. According to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, this move is part of efforts to strengthen the UK's defense operations and reaffirms its commitment to acting in the interest of the country and its allies. The deployment aims to bolster the presence at Akrotiri, however, Downing Street stated that the option is still under consideration and no final decision has been made. The Cypriot Ministry of Defense had not been informed about the deployment as of yet. This move comes during a period of heightened geopolitical tension in the region.
