Russian Ambassador Believes Cypriot EU Presidency Could Lead to New Approach with Moscow

The Russian Ambassador to Cyprus, Murat Zyazikov, expressed his belief that the Cypriot EU Presidency could lead to a new, more realistic and responsible approach by the EU towards Moscow. He argued that the EU should reassess its stance towards Russia, taking into account the new geopolitical realities and the rise of new centers of influence. Zyazikov criticized the EU's lack of willingness to participate in resolving the Ukrainian crisis and called on the EU to follow the example of the US and join the peace process. He emphasized the long-standing friendship between the peoples of Russia and Cyprus as a factor that could contribute to this change.
