Peace Council Condemns Attacks on Iran – Anti-War Protest in Limassol

The Pan-Cypriot Peace Council (PPC) strongly condemns the attacks by Israel and the US on Iran and other regions of the Middle East, expressing fears of a generalized war. The PPC states that these attacks exacerbate tensions and cause destruction, while pointing out the danger posed by British bases in Cyprus. The Council emphasizes that the Republic of Cyprus should condemn the attacks and defend international law, rejecting dependence on the US and NATO. It believes that the involvement of British bases in the attacks violates International Law and endangers Cyprus. The PPC calls on the Cypriot government to demand that Britain remove Cyprus from the war conflict and guarantee the safety of Cypriot citizens in the Middle East. Furthermore, it reiterates its position for the closure of British bases, considering them anachronistic and dangerous. The Council calls on all peace-loving organizations to participate in an anti-war demonstration it is organizing tomorrow, Tuesday, in Limassol, with the aim of promoting peace and dialogue in the region.
