Tension in Cyprus: "There was an attempt of attack which was dealt with away from the Republic of Cyprus"

Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos stated that normalcy prevails in Cyprus despite the tensions in the Middle East, with schools, universities and businesses operating normally. However, he stressed that the government is operating proactively and protectively, as a drone attack has occurred at the British base and an attempted attack outside Cypriot waters has been thwarted. Mr. Kombos mentioned that Greece, France, Italy and Spain have offered significant assistance to Cyprus, expressing the government's gratitude. He predicted that the situation in the region will remain escalating for some time, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance and protection of the Republic of Cyprus. He noted that the response from Greece was particularly important, both in substance and symbolism, due to the close relationship between the two countries. He reiterated that Cyprus is operating with the safety and protection of its citizens in mind, without creating a sense of a war situation.
