Larnaca: Flood Prevention Works Begin in Problematic Areas of Kamarès

Flood prevention works in the Kamarès area of Larnaca are entering their final phase, with work focusing on the most problematic areas. Sections of Vasou Lyssaridi and Wagner streets will be closed from January 2nd to April 1st. The selection of these specific streets is due to the fact that they are the areas that have suffered the most damage from past floods, as recorded in December 2014. The destruction at that time led to the approval and commencement of the flood prevention works. The project, which is expected to be completed by 2027, aims to protect the area from future floods. The work to be done during the road closures is critical to the effectiveness of the project. The Larnaca Provincial Self-Governing Authority has announced the schedule and the streets that will be affected, urging drivers to use alternative routes and to show understanding for the inevitable inconvenience.
