Poachers Threaten Game Wardens in Cyprus

In Paphos, two poachers were discovered by members of the Game and Fauna Service shooting wild birds in an area of Acheleia. During the inspection, one of the suspects turned his weapon against the game wardens and threatened them. Both men fled, but one, a 66-year-old, was arrested. He was found in possession of 18 freshly killed partridges, and additional birds, cartridges, and spent cartridges were discovered at the scene. The case is being investigated by the Paphos TAE.
