Letymbiotis: The Republic of Cyprus does not participate in any military operation

Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis stated that the Republic of Cyprus does not participate, nor will it participate in any military operation, but will continue to serve its humanitarian role. He said this after the meeting between President Christodoulides and Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias. Mr. Letymbiotis stressed the importance of disseminating accurate information, especially during times of crisis, and called on the public to be informed by official sources. He pointed out that Greece responded immediately to Cyprus's request and sent four F-16s and two frigates to strengthen the country's defense. According to Mr. Letymbiotis, a meeting of the National Security Council was held under the chairmanship of President Christodoulides to assess the situation and coordinate the relevant services. A Press Center is also operating to provide immediate and continuous information to the media and the public.
