Members of Burglary Gang Arrested in Limassol - Monitored Citizens with Cameras

Three individuals, believed to be members of a burglary gang, have been placed under 8-day detention in Limassol. The gang is alleged to have used specialized tools to break into the security entrances of homes. During a search of the suspects' apartment, police found dozens of pieces of jewelry and valuables worth tens of thousands of euros. The Limassol Police had activated an operation plan after a series of burglaries in the Panthea, Agios Athanasios, and Potamos Germasogeias areas. The investigation led to the surveillance of a specific apartment and the identification of a vehicle used by the suspects. During a vehicle check, the driver, 48, resisted arrest but was eventually apprehended. Simultaneously, a search of the apartment, with a court warrant, revealed specialized burglary tools and the stolen goods. The suspects are believed to be linked to at least 10 burglaries, using tools that allowed them to open security doors without damaging them. Police estimate that the gang had experience and used electronic cameras and other surveillance tools to identify vacant homes and monitor areas. The identities found in their possession are likely false, and checks are being carried out in cooperation with Interpol and Europol to verify their authenticity. The value of the stolen goods is being estimated, and victims of the burglaries will be called upon to identify the items.
