Significant Drop in the Cyprus Stock Exchange Amidst Middle East Developments

The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) experienced a significant drop in its first session of March, as a result of developments in the Middle East. The General Index fell by 3.84% and closed at 278.54 points, while the FTSE/CySE 20 Index fell by 2.86% and closed at 167.46 points. Significant losses were also recorded in the indices of the Main Market, Investment Companies, Hotels and the Alternative Market. The largest investment activity was observed in the shares of Bank of Cyprus, followed by the shares of Vasilikos Cement Works, Dimitra Investment, Cyprus Cement Company and LORDOS HOTELS (HOLDINGS).
