Growing Public Insecurity

The recent incident of violence in Larnaca, involving beatings and shootings, confirms the uncontrolled activity of organized crime groups throughout Cyprus, including the involvement of foreigners. Crime, particularly drug trafficking, economic crime, and murders, has been a long-standing problem for Cyprus. Citizens feel insecure and demand effective action from the Police and the Judiciary. It is proposed that the law be strictly enforced, with the immediate deportation of foreigners involved in illegal activities and the thorough investigation of the activities of known criminals, in order to curb the phenomenon and restore a sense of security in society.
