Natasa Lappa: "2025 Made Me Stronger, Athletically and Mentally"

Cypriot sailor Natasa Lappa reflects on her most successful year to date, 2025, despite facing numerous challenges. The year included injuries, two surgeries, and a demanding return to competition, but ultimately provided her with valuable experiences and confidence. Lappa and her team have chosen Sardinia as their training base, where they completed six training camps for 2026, with the first starting on January 2nd. A foot injury in October required surgery, but Lappa managed to compete in the European Championship just one month later, thanks to gym training during her recovery. At the European Championship, she achieved her best career result, with several races finishing in the top three. Athletically, Lappa stood out at the World and European Championships. She finished 20th at the European Championship, with three top-3 finishes and two top-10 finishes, while at the World Championship she took 35th place out of 79 athletes. The athlete emphasized that the work done in Italy significantly contributed to her development. Recently, Lappa underwent another surgery on her knee to address a chronic problem. Her goal for 2026 is to appear stronger and fully prepared for the competitive challenges, including the World Championship, the European Championship, and the Mediterranean Games.
