US Will Back Second Strike on Iran Over Weapons Program - Tehran Denies

The United States will continue to support the possibility of a second strike on Iran, if necessary, to prevent the development of its weapons programs, President Trump stated. The statement was made in the presence of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, implying that Tehran may be trying to redevelop its weapons programs after a previous US strike in June. Iran categorically denies having a nuclear weapons program. However, Trump mentioned that there is information about the accumulation of weapons by Iran, possibly in different facilities than those destroyed in the previous strike. The US strike in June targeted three key Iranian nuclear facilities, while a report found that the attack on Fordow was the most successful. Russa, which has strengthened its ties with Iran, called on all parties to avoid escalation and seek dialogue. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia will continue to cultivate close relations with Tehran. The West accuses Iran of supplying Russia with missiles and drones for the war in Ukraine, which Iran denies. The situation in the region remains tense, and the possibility of further escalation is real.
