Five mothers from Cyprus, Greece, Palestine, and Ukraine shared their tragic stories at the “Voice of Mothers” event in Nicosia. These women have experienced the loss of their children due to war, violence, or other tragic circumstances. Harita Mantoles, a witness to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, moved the audience with her vivid description of the events, despite the passage of almost 52 years. The speakers emphasized the unbearable pain of losing a child and the need for justice and the restoration of truth. The event highlighted the common experience of maternal grief and the need for solidarity and support.
