Nine Killed, Including Five Children, in Israeli Strikes on Gaza

Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip resulted in the deaths of nine people, including five children, during one of the most violent days since the October ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The nine victims lost their lives in separate incidents, according to the Gaza-based aid organization operating under Hamas control. In the southern Gaza Strip, a drone strike hit a tent in a camp housing displaced people, killing four, including three children. Another person was killed near Khan Younis. In the northern part of the Palestinian territory, an 11-year-old girl was killed near the Jabalya camp, and an adult died in an airstrike on a school. The Israeli army stated it was “looking into” the reported incidents, having earlier announced it had “precisely hit” a location in Gaza City in response to a rocket launch. Hamas stated the strikes “confirm the Israeli occupation’s retreat from its commitment to a ceasefire.”
