Woman Arrested for Attempting to Smuggle Drugs into Prison

A 40-year-old Greek Cypriot woman was arrested yesterday afternoon after being found carrying drugs (crystal meth) to the central prisons. The woman is alleged to have intended the drugs for a specific inmate. 17 grams of the substance were found in her possession. A 45-year-old convicted prisoner inside the prison was also arrested in connection with the case. The suspect was interrogated by the YKAN and admitted her involvement. She will be charged after the scientific examinations from the state chemistry laboratory are completed. The YKAN continues its investigations to determine the extent of the network and any other persons involved.
