Around 3,000 Multiple Sclerosis Patients in Cyprus - New Association Building Inaugurated

In Cyprus, it is estimated that around 3,000 people suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. The Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalambides, announced this number at the inauguration of the new building of the Pan-Cypriot Multiple Sclerosis Association in Nicosia. The Association, since its founding in 1986, has been providing support services to patients and their families, such as physiotherapy, home care, psychological and social support. Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system and is one of the most common neurological conditions worldwide. The Ministry of Health states its support for the Association's efforts and has begun procedures to draft a National Strategy for Multiple Sclerosis.
