Protection of the Environment is Everyone's Responsibility, Says Polis Chrysochous Municipality

The Polis Chrysochous Municipality reminds citizens of the waste collection program and the operation of the Green Point, as legal ways to dispose of rubble and waste. The announcement comes after the discovery of uncontrolled dumping of rubble in private plots, rivers, and agricultural land by irresponsible citizens, a practice that destroys the environment, causes nuisance, and increases the risk of fires. The Municipality emphasizes that environmental protection is a collective responsibility and calls on citizens to adhere to the program and use the Green Point. Furthermore, a local resident, Stella Petrakis, has reported the illegal dumping of rubble on her private field in the location of Koiladi-Stavropetra, despite her repeated attempts to clean it and place signs. Ms. Petrakis expresses her outrage at the financial damage and environmental destruction caused, as well as the problems created with the Municipality. The Polis Chrysochous Municipality announces that the area is being monitored and anyone found illegally dumping rubble or garbage will be reported to the competent authorities. Maintaining and protecting the area is considered the responsibility of all, with the aim of a clean and safe environment for current and future generations. The Municipality's announcement is an attempt to raise public awareness and strengthen environmental consciousness, as uncontrolled waste disposal is a serious problem for the area and the quality of life of residents.
