Saudi Arabia – UAE: How the Alliance Dissolved

The alliance between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates appears to have dissolved, with the two countries clashing in Yemen, Sudan, and East Africa, as well as on economic issues. At the heart of the crisis are personal differences between Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, who once had a close relationship. Saudi Arabia expresses strong concerns about the UAE's actions in Sudan and Yemen, accusing them of destabilizing the region by supporting opposing factions. Furthermore, the two countries have different approaches regarding the Muslim Brotherhood. In Yemen, Saudi Arabia accuses the UAE of supporting the Southern Transitional Council, while in Sudan, the UAE is accused of providing support to the Rapid Support Forces, in contrast to the support of the Sudanese army by Saudi Arabia and other countries. The situation has escalated, with the two countries now supporting opposing sides in significant regional conflicts.
