Olive Route Program in Paphos Fully Underway

The 'Olive Route' program in Paphos is fully underway, aiming to integrate it into a wider route connecting various European countries. Representatives from the European OTRoutes network visited the area and expressed their satisfaction with the proposed locations and points of interest. The route covers all municipalities in the Paphos province, approximately 30 communities, and extends over 170 kilometers, offering a variety of experiences, including olive-related sites, monasteries, churches, archaeological sites, museums, and viewpoints. The tour is primarily aimed at individual visitors who can travel by their own means or by rented minibus or taxi, due to the limited coverage of public transport in the countryside. Local authorities estimate that the program will enhance the cultural value of Paphos, promote the region internationally, and offer opportunities for exposure and participation in scientific activities, as the route has been recognized by the Council of Europe and UNESCO.
