AHK Employees Stage Three-Hour Strike

Employees of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (AHK) have announced a three-hour work stoppage today, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, protesting serious problems facing the electricity sector. In a letter to the AHK's Board of Directors, trade unions highlight the deterioration of the situation, with negative consequences for consumers and the economy, due to lack of strategic planning and delays. Despite meetings with the Board, where there was agreement on the need for solutions, the problems remain unresolved, while government actions are worsening the situation. The trade unionists accuse the state of wasting time on unfeasible proposals instead of ensuring adequate electricity supply and supporting consumers.
