Presidency of the Committee of the Regions Meeting to be Held in Nicosia

The 238th meeting of the Presidency of the Committee of the Regions will take place in Nicosia on Tuesday, February 10th, as part of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026. The meeting will be held at the Nicosia Conference Centre. The meeting will be addressed by the President of the Committee of the Regions, Kata Tüttő, the President of the Union of Municipalities, Andreas Vyras, and the Minister of Interior, Constantinos Ioannou, on behalf of the President of the Republic. Statements to the media will follow from the President of the Committee and the Minister of Interior. Discussions will focus on issues such as digital innovation, research, blue technology, and the preparation of resilient regions. The role of local and regional authorities in promoting solutions and protecting communities will be emphasized. Work on the meeting is already underway at Nicosia City Hall, and an extraordinary meeting of the Conference of Presidents will be held at the same building in the afternoon. The organization of the meeting is an important event for Cyprus, in the context of its preparation for the Presidency of the Council of the EU.
