Condolences from Akinci and Tatar for the Passing of Giorgos Vassiliou

Former Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, former Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, and Ozdil Nami have expressed their condolences on the death of former President of Cyprus, Giorgos Vassiliou. All three acknowledged Vassiliou's contribution to the effort to resolve the Cyprus issue and described him as a politician who sought a logical and realistic solution. Akinci emphasized Vassiliou's commitment to dialogue with the Turkish Cypriot side, even after leaving office, while Tatar noted that Vassiliou stood out for his efforts to seek contact and dialogue. Nami expressed the view that Cyprus has lost a significant political leader and that Vassiliou's presence at the Crans Montana Conference could have led to a different outcome.
