Continuous Assessment for Potential Economic Measures, Says Letymbiotis

Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis stated that the government is continuously monitoring the situation and will make decisions on any new economic support measures for citizens, depending on developments in the Middle East. He pointed out that the electricity subsidy and the zero VAT rate on essential goods remain in effect. He noted that the price of unleaded gasoline and diesel in Cyprus is among the lowest in the European Union. Regarding the possible extension of reduced VAT measures, he replied that all data is being evaluated. He stressed that Cyprus has strong fiscal margins and a solid economic foundation to support society. He expressed optimism for this year's tourist season, emphasizing that Cyprus remains a quality tourist destination.
