Cyprus and Greece Coordinate as Dendias Visits

Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias will meet today in Cyprus with President Nikos Christodoulides and his Cypriot counterpart, Vasilis Palmas. This visit follows telephone conversations between Christodoulides and Mitsotakis, as well as the dispatch of two Greek frigates and two F-16s to the island. The meetings will focus on coordination between Nicosia and Athens amid rising tensions in the region. Dendias will also meet with the Archbishop of New Justiniana and All Cyprus, George, at the Holy Archbishopric of Cyprus. The meeting is scheduled after yesterday's telephone conversations between the two leaders and Greece's immediate response to Cyprus' requests to strengthen its defense capabilities.
