Competition for Prison Director Position, Uncertainty Over Jailer Posts

The position of Permanent Director of the Central Prisons remains vacant since mid-March. More than 35 applications have been submitted, which are being reviewed by the Public Service Commission. The position offers annual salaries from €64,700 to €84,100. At the same time, the filling of the 88 jailer positions seems uncertain, as interest in the position is not particularly strong. Candidates will take a written exam and a list of successful candidates will be drawn up, without a verbal interview being planned.
