Sycas: "Immunity Does Not Represent Me" - No Objection Raised by MP, Supreme Court Decision on January 15th - Protection Order for Victim

MP Nikos Sycas of DISY appeared before the Supreme Court today regarding the request for the lifting of his immunity. The hearing has been scheduled for January 15, 2025. His lawyer, Christos Pourgourides, did not object to the request but asked to submit written comments. The Attorney General stated that Mr. Sycas is considered a suspect for the offenses of psychological violence and abuse. Simultaneously, a court order was issued prohibiting the MP from approaching the victim. Mr. Sycas stated that immunity does not represent him and that he believes in the rule of law. He added that, despite the withdrawal of the case, he fully facilitates justice. The case concerns allegations of behavior by the MP towards a woman with whom he allegedly had a personal relationship.
