UAE Welcomes IMO Decision Condemning Iran Attacks on Ships

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) welcomed the decision of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) condemning Iran's attacks on ships and its attempt to close the Strait of Hormuz. The decision, co-signed by more than 115 member states, is described as historic and demonstrates the widespread international condemnation of Tehran's actions. The IMO Council calls on Iran to refrain from actions that obstruct navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and reaffirms the right of free passage for commercial vessels. The UAE also welcomed Japan's proposal to create a maritime security corridor for the safe evacuation of sailors from the area.
