Funeral of Marinella to be Held on Tuesday, Body to Lie in State

Marinella's funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 31st, at the Athens Metropolitan Cathedral at 2:00 PM, while her body will lie in state at the chapel of the Church of Agios Eleftherios from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The burial will take place in a private family circle. The family requests that, in lieu of wreaths, donations be made to the “Flame” Association, which supports children with cancer. Marinella passed away on March 28th, plunging Greece into mourning. Her artistic legacy is immense, with her songs having touched the lives of many generations of Greeks. Her last appearance at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, with its special setting and her stunning performance, is considered an artistic climax.
