Argaka Dam Overflows – TAW Appeals for Rational Water Use

The Argaka dam overflowed this morning around 8:30 AM due to recent rainfall. Although the dam is relatively small in capacity (990 thousand cubic meters) and part of the Chrysochous irrigation project, the overflow is significant as it operates in conjunction with other dams in the area (Evretou, Agia Marina, Pomos). Authorities are urging citizens to use water rationally, as reserves remain low and inflow into the dams does not mean unlimited consumption. The overflow of the Argaka dam, like the Pomos dam earlier, does not create complacency but highlights the need for prudent water resource management.
