Student Grant Applications to Begin After Legislative Changes

The Scholarship and Grants Service of the Ministry of Finance announced that applications for state student grants for the academic year 2025-2026 will begin after the passage of pending legislative changes in the House of Representatives. These changes include an increase in income categories by €5,000, a 10% increase in student grants for families with an annual income of up to €44,000, and the removal of income and property criteria for families with more than five dependents. The Ministry of Finance calls on interested parties to make the necessary preparations and register with the CY Login electronic service, as applications will be submitted exclusively by parents or legal guardians of students. Registration with CY Login is required for secure access to government services. The start date for submitting applications will be announced later, with the Ministry assuring that sufficient time will be given for submission. Interested parties can find more information on the website of the Scholarship and Grants Service. These changes are expected to benefit a significant number of students and families, facilitating access to higher education and reducing the financial burden on families.
