Consumer Protection: No Fee for Cancelling Organized Trips

The Consumer Protection Service informs that travelers have the right to cancel organized trips without charge in the event of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at the destination, such as war, natural disasters, or public health problems. This information comes following the unstable situation in the Middle East and its potential impact on travel. Travel organizers are obliged to refund the amounts paid in case of cancellation, while they can suggest postponing or rescheduling the trip with the issuance of a credit note. However, acceptance of the credit note is at the traveler's discretion, who retains the right to a full refund. In addition, the Service clarifies the obligations of organizers in the event that travelers are already at the destination and their return is impossible.
