Winter Weather Warning: Storms, Snow, and Strong Winds for Cyprus

A yellow warning is in effect from the Cyprus Meteorological Department until 9 PM on Monday due to expected heavy rain and thunderstorms. Coastal areas are expected to be most affected, with the possibility of hail during storms. Snowfall is forecast for the higher mountains, potentially becoming dense in some areas. Rainfall intensity is estimated between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour, with total rainfall possibly exceeding 55 millimeters in certain regions, particularly along the coast and in the mountains. Winds will be strong, especially on the coast, reaching up to 7 Beaufort, while the sea will be wavy to very wavy. Temperatures will range around 15 degrees Celsius inland and along the coast, and 4 degrees Celsius in the mountains. Tuesday will see isolated showers and thunderstorms with a temperature drop, while Wednesday and Thursday will experience gradual improvement in the weather.
