Christodoulides and Macron Meet in Paris – President Inaugurates Exhibitions at the Louvre and the National Library of France

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris within the framework of close cooperation between the two countries. The meeting took place at the National Library of France, alongside the opening of an exhibition showcasing the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The exhibition at the Louvre Museum includes sixteen antiquities loaned by Cyprus, presenting the history and culture of the island during the Chalcolithic period and the Bronze Age, as well as impressive archaic clay offerings. At the same time, a second exhibition was inaugurated at the National Library of France, in collaboration with the Cultural Foundation of the Bank of Cyprus, presenting Cyprus through a variety of documents, such as antiquities, manuscripts and drawings, revealing how France has perceived the island over time. The exhibitions, lasting until June 22, 2026 and June 14, 2026 respectively, are part of the Cultural Program of the Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council 2026 and represent a significant opportunity to promote Cypriot culture abroad.
