Golden Dawn: Convictions Upheld on Appeal for All 42 Defendants

The Athens Criminal Court of Appeal confirmed the convictions of all 42 defendants in the Golden Dawn case, upholding the original verdict. Most of the defendants were not present in the courtroom. The decision concerns former MPs, such as Stathis Boukoura, Chrysavvalantis Alexopoulos, Michalis Arvanitis, Eleni Zaroulia, as well as the leaders of the criminal organization and those convicted of attempted murder of the Egyptian fisherman. The process was lengthy and based on the prosecutor's proposal. Magda Fyssa, mother of Pavlos Fyssa, expressed emotion over the conviction on appeal. The decision concerns convictions for leading and participating in a criminal organization, as well as for the murder of Pavlos Fyssa, for which Giorgos Roupakias was found guilty.
